My husband and I were looking for our first home and were considering trying on our own, now that it is easy to access websites with listings and viewings. In one of the first open houses that we went to, we met Matthew, we spoke briefly and he took notes of our needs and budget. In the following weeks we exchanged a couple of e-mails and decided to ask him to assist us in our journey of finding a new home. We are so glad we did!! First of all Maurilio and I would like to say, "THANK YOU MATTHEW", your help in securing our first home in less than 2 weeks was beyond what any words can express. When we got home from our vacation this year we were told that our Landlord was putting the house on the market 10 hours after returning from our month long vacation. With a child and a cousin who is developmentally challenged I panicked. My husband suggested we call Matthew Fernandes as he had been highly recommended. Matthew come to our rescue by coming to our house within hours of us calling him and explaining our difficult situation. He assured us that everything would be alright. We had nothing in place and were caught totally off guard with the landlords surprise decision on selling the house we have been renting for 12 years, he gave us 60 days notice to move. Matthew was super attentive to the difficult situation he had on hand, showing us numerous properties on a daily basis and putting up with my crazy and nervous calls every day. Not to mention my cousin's repetitive questions about being afraid to leave our house. Matthew was amazing, patient, attentive and very professional. He showed us numerous properties knowing that our intention was to put an offer on the house we were currently renting. (We had tried to negotiate with the real estate agent listing our property to no avail). Matthew wanted to make sure we had a prospective of what was available in the market and what price points we had to deal with. When the week was up and it was time to put an offer in for our house. Matthew took the time to meet us at our bank to get a certified cheque first thing in the morning. Bidding started at 5pm and after going back and forth for a few hours in a bidding war with a couple of other bidders Matthew gave us the great news that we had WON the bidding. At almost 10pm my husband and I were jumping for joy that we had successfully bought our house.
